What is Doggy Playcare?
We provide your dog with an enormous, newly renovated, 13,000 square foot play area spanning both inside and outside. Doggy Playcare is an outlet for your dog to romp around and burn off built-up energy. The benefits of Doggy Playcare are astounding! Dogs are social animals and benefit from interaction and stimulation both physically and mentally. Your dog will make new friends, play all day and be tuckered out by the time you come to pick them up.
Do not confuse ÜBERDOG with a standard dog daycare operation. This is dog daycare with a whole new twist – intuitive, energetic, and shaped by the world’s most simple and sought after question: What do dogs want? ÜBERDOG is an entirely new concept in the dog playcare marketplace that caters to the needs of dogs and their busy owners over anything else. ÜBERDOG is an upscale playcare community of trained professional caregivers (Wagologists) with the credentials to not only enhance your dog’s early social and behavioral skills but to also give them the necessary exercise that they need to be healthy and happy pets.
What are the Top Ten Reasons for Doggy Playcare?
- To socialize your dog with others.
- To curb destructive behaviors such as barking, biting, digging, etc.
- To help form lifelong friendships for your pup.
- Because dogs are really just kids with fur.
- For that late day at the office or dinner date.
- Because your dog is your best friend and you love him/her.
- To aid in potty training.
- Allows your dog to release that built up energy and maintain a healthy weight.
- Can you hold it for 10 hours?!
- BECAUSE YOUR DOG DESERVES BETTER…
Can I see the facility that my dog will be playing in?
Of Course! ALL of our exciting play areas are easily visible from one of our huge viewing windows.
How far in advance do I need to make a reservation?
For our overnight guests, we recommend making reservations at least 1-2 weeks ahead of time. Reservations are not required for our Playcare groups.
How will my dog act after a full day at ÜBERDOG?
By the time parents arrive to pick-up their dogs from doggy playcare, they find their dog tired, hungry and ready to go bed. This is a dream come true for the equally tired pet owner. It is normal for your dog to sleep more than usual after a fun-filled day of playcare, so don’t panic when they fall asleep in your car on the way home!
What vaccinations will my dog need?
All dogs need to be current on: Rabies (1 or 3 yr), Bordetella (Kennel Cough), Distemper (1 or 3 yr), K9 Influenza (recommended, but not required)
Why does my dog have to be spayed or neutered?
All of the guests who stay at ÜBERDOG will be socialized and exercised in playgroups. Therefore we cannot have guests who are not altered.
Male dogs that are not neutered tend to create more aggressive tendencies, such as posturing other males dogs, mounting, etc. This can create conflict in the playgroups. Females not spayed will give off a scent (whether they are in heat or not) that will create conflict between the males in the playgroup. So, we have a requirement that all guests must be altered by the time they reach 7 months of age.
How do you determine which dogs will do well in each playgroup?
Guests are separated in different playgroups based on their individual needs and personality. Most often the important factors are age, size, weight, temperament and play-style, which we assess through your pet’s profile and initial evaluation.
Can I bring my dog’s favorite toy to playgroup?
You may bring your dog’s favorite toy only if they will be staying with us overnight. Your dog’s toy will have to remain in their Suite or Dog Den as dogs tend to become possessive over their toys.
Can I stay in the Suite or Luxury Dog Den with my dog?
While our luxury accommodations are certainly comfortable enough for dog owners, unfortunately our Suites and Dog Dens are exclusively for overnight guests with four paws and wagging tails.
Is Doggy Daycare safe for my dog? Couldn’t he/she get bitten by another dog?
When dogs play, they use their paws and mouths, their play is similar to fighting or wrestling. In rare instances, playing goes too far and a dog can get bitten or scratched. Rest assured, however, that ÜBERDOG takes the safety of the dogs in our care very seriously and takes all precautions to avoid any occurrence of injury. Our trained Wagologists are constantly assessing your dog’s overall health while they are in our care. In the event your dog is injured or becomes ill while at ÜBERDOG, they will be treated onsite immediately and if necessary, will be transported to a local Veterinarian.
Do you have any breed restrictions?
While we love ALL dogs, we do follow our insurance company guidelines which prohibit us from accepting certain bully breeds. These breeds include Pit Bulls, Pit Bull mixes and Staffordshire Terriers. We apologize for any inconvenience.
Can my dog pick up communicable illnesses?
Anytime there is a communicable type of environment, it is always possible. Dogs in our Playcare groups, much like children in daycare, can pass things to each other through water sources and playing. The best way to prevent and detect these issues is to regularly see your veterinarian.
